Heaven

‎1 Peter 1:3-4 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on. God has something stored up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear. (CEV)

Psalm 27:1-6 (Part 2/2)

4 One thing I ask from the LORD,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.

6 Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

3) Because of His presence. (Verse 4)

It is said that God is everywhere. We carry His presence wherever we go. Knowing that He is present at all times and knows out daily activities, we have nothing to fear. Even though sometimes, we might not feel Him, we ought to chose to believe that he is with us, every step of the way. The Bible says, God will not leave us nor forsake us. So if you believe that the Bible is 100% correct, then this is one that we must know.

4) Because of His promises. (Verse 5-6)

We hear it all the time. Promises we make and promises others give. As human beings who makes mistakes all the time, we still try to keep promises. What more God, our heavenly Father?
Because of the promise, we need to trust Him. Trust is not an emotion, but an act of my own will to give my burdens to God. It is like muscle - the more you exercise it, it gets stronger. David has trusted God that He will provide His resources. We need not only to trust Him for resources, but also for the timing for everything.

When I fear my circumstances, I find confidence in the Lord.

Be Blessed,
Eva :)

Psalm 27:1-6 (Part 1/2)

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.

3
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.

I love reading Psalms. It's like reading David's heart, literally. May it be songs, poems or just pure conversation I believe David was sincerely expressing himself. Sometimes we try so hard to express to God how we feel, but in actually fact, all we need is sincerity and honesty. He already know what we might say, but yet He wants us to speak.

Why do we fear? Uncertainty?
I fear many things. Even little little things that might not even be worth to fear about. I have much to learn from this. Fear is one thing that holds us from moving forward. Fear open doors for the enemy to enter and eventually destroys us. I know that I shouldn't fear, coz I know the fact that God is in control. Yet, I fear all the time!!! It gets frustrating...

I guess I am confused. Is fear and worry the same thing? Well, worry leads to fear. The Bible says, God is our light. He is our Salvation. We need to find confidence in the midst of fear because:

1) We have a personal relationship with God. (Verse 1)

This simply means that He knows out hearts and He will protect us. A father would always provide for his children, likewise, our Father in heaven. This relationship isn't ordinary. It is a special one between 2 persons. You and GOD. No one else. Having that relationship also means that we know Him. We recognize His voice and we know His heart.

2) The past victories. (Verse 2-3)

I am sure most of us know and remember those times where God really helped us, or rather saved us from something we cannot control. And deep within ourselves, we KNOW it was God. Not by our own strength or ideas. The enemy is always up against us. Try to bring us down. Attacking us spiritually. The choice to make is ours. To believe and get fooled by it, or to hold on to God, who is in control. This may be easy to say but definitely not easy to do. One good thing is that God will carry us through it. He will help us. Think back of what troubles you had faced in the past and how you got out of them... that would remind you to hold on further, because you will see the light at the end on the tunnel.

I have chosen to live for Him. That means removing every mountain of doubt and fear that lurks around. It is a constant act or trusting Him. May you chose that too... that there's nothing to fear because God is with us.

Stay tuned for Part 2.
P.S: Thanks to Lorraine who's decided to share her growth journal blog with me. As it has caught my eye when I read her posts the first time, I hope that this would encourage some reader out there.

Be blessed,
Eva :)

????

Sometimes it may seem like you can't figure it out by yourself. Sometimes will and strength and courage are not enough. Sometimes in your life you will need to call out for help. Call on God. God will be there.

I have GOD

... every day you are choosing either to be grateful or to be disappointed.

You can worry to no end about what you don't have. Or you can marvel at God's breathtaking gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Could you create any of these? These miracles of life are always around you, ready to be celebrated, ready to be welcomed into your life.

I am grateful Lord for what i have. For what i dun have now...i know You have your reasons. Though i dont know why, what how or when...u know best. I fully put my trust in you my God.

HAPPY

There is nothing you need to do to deserve happiness. There are no 'minimal requirements' for you to fulfill before you can claim happiness. You deserve happiness simply by virtue of having been born. That's it. Nothing more is required. Be happy.

Reward

If all you had to do was wish for something and you would have it, life would be pretty boring, wouldn't it? God placed barriers between us and what we want, so we can enjoy interesting and satisfying lives. God hid our biggest rewards behind the highest barriers - our deepest fears. God wants us to face our fears, and hold ground in their presence, and let them go, and that's how we get out biggest rewards. What are you most afraid of? Say it, just start by saying it.

A Resolution Worth Keeping

by Jon Walker

For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 2:2 (NIV)

Today we may be thinking about New Year's resolutions? You know, those lists we make with two scoops of optimistic enthusiasm, sprinkled with unrealistic expectations, and topped with the cherry of knowing the list isn't serious anyway.

But there is one guy who I suspect played for keeps when he made New Year's resolutions -- that zealot who could never do anything halfway, the let's-get-real-about-our-faith apostle Paul.

My thought is Paul only had one resolution on his New Year's list: "This year I resolve to know nothing but Christ and him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2).

Paul's message is radically simple: Salvation is in Christ alone. What does this mean?

It's not Christ plus your good behavior.
It's not Christ plus the years you taught a Bible study.
It's not Christ plus your tithe.
It's not Christ plus the church you attend.
It's not Christ plus the number of verses you memorize.
It's not Christ plus your title in the church.
It's not Christ plus wisdom from the latest Christian seminar.
It's not Christ plus a good driving record.
It's not Christ plus the right job.
It's not Christ plus the right spouse.
It's not Christ plus the latest technology.

It's simply Christ. Christ plus nothing.

That's Paul's message, a message that is as right throughout 2011 as it will be in 2999.

May your resolution for this year be nothing but Christ and Him crucified.
